Banquo's Ghost

In Act 3, Scene 4, Shakespeare gives us the first indication that Macbeth is going crazy,\. WHat effect does it give to have Macbeth talking to Banquo's ghost while there are other people around? How does your opinion of LADY Macbeth change as a result of her handling of the situation?

The effect that is givin when macbeth is talking to banquos ghost is that he is filled with guilt. His past and his decisions are haunting him, the fact that people are around shows that he believes these things are real and doesnt feel emberassed of it. My impression of lady macbeth was that she is the master ring leader in the situation. She doesnt believe it was wrong so she covers it instead of being there for her husband.

The effect that would be taking place in this scene would be that Macbeth feels guilty because he went and asked three murders to kill Banquo because Banquo was on to him about Duncan's death and now that Banquo is dead, his ghost is coming back to haunt him. And he first appears at the banquet, and Macbeth is getting scared and is trying to act like he cared for Banquo by making this big speech in front of everyone. My impression of Lady Macbeth would that she likes to take charge of situations like this instead of asking how her husband is doing/being there for him.

Macbeth rethinks what he's done, due to a feeling of dishonour. He had regrets and strong thoughts about Banquo's death. Lady Macbeth doesn't act as proper as she usually would. She tells the guests to leave and she means it in a bold way. After Macbeth killed Duncan, he'd proven to his wife that he was a real man, but after the death of Banquo and the outbursts from Macbeth, Lady Macbeth has to rethink her previous thoughts.

The effect given is that everyone thinks Macbeth is crazy. Macbeth's words show us that he feels guilt about having his friend murdered. Here we see Lady Macbeth try and cover uo Macbeth's dillusion, so we begin to wonder whose really in control

When Macbeth talks to Banquos Ghost he is feeling really guilty. He knows what he did was wrong and he cant change it. The fact that there are other people around is showing his belief of this figure and showing he ia actually going crazy. He thinks everyone else can see it too. My impression of Lady Macbeth in this scene is superior to Macbeth. She thinks Macbeth is going crazy so she doesnt want to be embarrassed about it So she tells everyone to leave.

When Macbeth starts talking to Banqo's ghost he is almost scared to see what is going to happen if he continues on his present course of assassinating all these people that get in his way. How Lady Macbeth reacts to this situation shows she is not really worried about her husband's health and well being, she is only afraid of her husband's reputation being destroyed and his and her plot being exposed.

Mabeth's encounter with Banquo's ghost displays macbeths slow descent into madness and guilt.
Our opinion of Lady Macbeth remains the same due to the fact that throughout the play she hasn't shown any concern towards her husband's well-being.

It shows us his guilt, it is slowly eating away at him and Lady MacBeth is trying hard to not let their plan be known to anyone else

If I was at that dinner I would think he was crazy. Macbeth is going a little crazy in that scene. Macbeth has taken all the decations but Lady Macbeth takes over again and takes control and gettes avery one out of the house.

It shows that Macbeth has started to lose his mind and that he is overcome with guilt for killing Banquo. Lady Macbeth's reaction shows that she is really the one in control, and how desperate she is to get away with the crime and avoid getting caught.
